Mercury Dime Value Chart
The Mercury (Winged Liberty Head) Dime, designed by Adolph A. Weinman, was struck in 90% silver (90% Ag, 10% Cu) from 1916 to 1945 at the Philadelphia (no mintmark), Denver (D), and San Francisco (S) mints. No dimes were struck in 1922, 1932, or 1933. The undisputed key is the low-mintage 1916-D (264,000), followed by the 1921 and 1921-D; the 1942/1 and 1942/1-D overdates are the most famous errors. The 1926-S and 1931-D are major semi-key/key dates. Mintmarks appear on the reverse to the left of the fasces base. Collectors prize fully struck examples showing Full Bands (FB) on the central bands of the fasces, a strike designation (not a separate date) that commands large premiums.
